I have had the honor of working alongside Nancy over more than a decade. Nancy worked for me as a Government and Policy specialist when I was CEO at the Chamber of Commerce. After this Nancy found her right placement when the City of South Lake Tahoe recognized her abilities and hired her away.
This turned out to be a huge win for the lucky citizens of our community! Nancy is a highly organized, skilled and knowledgeable leader who is committed to her belief in government and its ability to serve all citizens in a community. Nancy’s passion and capacity to envision a bolder, better future are complemented and realized through her tenacity, courage, creativity, work ethic, integrity and willingness to collaborate and partner with other public and/or private organizations to see an initiative or project from concept to completion. The town of South Lake Tahoe has numerous projects that are either complete or well underway thanks to her leadership and vision including housing, public gathering spaces and mixed use redevelopment where previously outdated structures contributed to a downtrodden appearance in our community. To put it simply – Nancy Kerry gets things done where others have failed to try or failed to succeed.
Add to this the savings that the city was able to realize thanks to Nancy’s adept ability to negotiate without losing sight of fairness for either the city or its employees. Nancy’s leadership and commitment to service were evident throughout city operations as staff who had been rudderless or uninspired rose to the occasion and began to shine in ways that previously had not been visible improving morale, turnaround times and service scores.
You are unlikely to ever meet a harder working individual than this woman – and in fact this might be her greatest weakness – remembering to take time off for herself! It has been my honor to work alongside Nancy Kerry and I await with great curiosity to see what magic she will create as we have both moved on to new endeavors.
